Contact Lenses

Contact lenses are thin lenses placed on the film of tears that covers the surface of the eyes. Like Eyeglasses, contact lenses help correct refractive errors and are a safe and effective way to correct vision when used with care and proper use. They can offer a good alternative to eyeglasses.

There are various types of contact lenses depending on your needs and your prescription. The most common types of lenses currently prescribed are soft contact lenses. These lenses are soft, flexible and allows for oxygen to reach the cornea. Depending on your needs, there are disposable or one day contact lenses, two-week or one month contact lenses, Toric contact lenses for Astigmatic patients, Bifocal or multifocal contact lenses as well as monovision contact lenses for presbyopic patients. The other type of contact lenses are Gas-permeable lenses, also called the RGP lenses. These lenses are rigid and also called the hard contact lenses. These lenses provide for a better vision, durability and deposit resistance than soft contact lenses.
