Dr. Jenine Esmail grew up in suburban Chicago. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago with a major in Kinesiology. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the prestigious Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University.
Her clinical externships included: New Eyes in Las Vegas, a co-management practice focusing on ocular disease and cataract surgery as well as training alongside renowned ophthalmologists, the VA Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center focusing on primary care and ocular disease, and the University Eye Care Center of Los Angeles in downtown focusing on primary care and ocular disease.
Dr. Esmail is certified in therapeutic and diagnostic pharmaceutical agents, allowing her to treat a wide range of ocular diseases. She is also glaucoma certified, allowing her to diagnose and treat glaucoma. Her focuses include dry eye, glaucoma, cataract co-management, and ocular disease.
Dr. Esmail is very passionate about dry eye management and spends extensive time with each patient to help develop a customized dry eye treatment. She is up to date on the most advanced treatments and technology to help manage dry eye disease, blepharitis, and meibomian gland dysfunction.
Dr. Esmail is a current member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the California Optometric Association (COA) and the Orange County Optometric Society (OCOS). In her free time, Dr. Esmail enjoys spending time with her husband and family, hiking on the weekends, and traveling.
